The head of the “Union of Armenians in Russia”, Ara Abramyan, believes that Russia’s special operation in Ukraine is appropriate and not directed against Ukrainians. He said this at a press conference in Yerevan.

Abrahamyan noted that since 2014, Kiev and its partners have failed to comply the Minsk agreements and, moreover, have been actively preparing for war against Russia. According to him, Russia in Ukraine is now at war with Nazism and Banderism, and not with the Ukrainian people, as it is presented in various media.

“For the last eight years we have been supporting the DPR(Donetsk People’s Republic) and LPR(Luhansk People’s Republic), and we know better than anyone how the people there lived, how they were trembling with fear. It was really scary there, several times worse than in Karabakh,” said the head of the UAR.

Abrahamyan is insulted by the claims of Armenians in Ukraine, who do not consider the support of the Russian side to be right. In this context, he reminded that Russia is Armenia’s strategic partner, and the war in Karabakh showed how important it is. According to him, the Armenian authorities should have the courage to admit that their cooperation with the USA and EU cannot harm the interests of their strategic partner.

“Armenians in Ukraine have claims, but I want to understand where they were when Azerbaijan held a victory march in this country, when they sent special weapons to Karabakh from there,” Abrahamyan said.
